Mymensingh is one of the famous localities in Bangladesh. It is renown for educational institutes, the beauty of green paddy fields, ancient establishment and Brahmaputra River. These are like Bangladesh Agricultural University, Alexander Palace, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Crocodile Firm, Teachers’ Training College (Male & Female), Fulbaria Orchid Garden, Gouripur Lodge, Gouripur Palace, Muktagacha Jamindar Palace, Mymensingh Museum and the Palace of Moharaja Surjakanta etc. Other places include Shilpacharjyo Jainul Abedin Shongrohoshala and Mymensingh Cantonment. Mymensingh is also related with beauty of green fields, Old Brahmaputra River and a rural ballad called Moimonsingho Geetika. Also there are many tourist places and sites of historical, natural and cultural interest in and around Mymensingh.
There are several bus and train services from Dhaka to Mymensingh. You can go there by buses which leave from the Mohakhali bus stand in Dhaka. And you can go there by several train services from Dhaka to Mymensingh. It takes almost 3 hours from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. You can take train from the Dhaka Airport or Kamlapur Railway Station.
